Insurance Claims Settlement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a specialist with a university degree in law, finance, economics or insurance — ideally with experience at an insurance company, financial institution or in a legal role.

You will handle insurance claims from the first notice to the payout decision: checking documents, analysing the circumstances and policy terms, and keeping every party in the loop.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and registering claim notices; checking documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Analysing the circumstances of each insured event against the policy terms.
• Preparing claim assessments and payout calculations within the set deadlines.
• Advising clients, branches and partners while a claim is under review; business correspondence.
• Keeping claim records in internal systems and preparing reports in Excel.
• Working with the legal, finance and underwriting teams.

Requirements

• University degree in law, finance, economics or insurance.
• Experience in insurance claims settlement is an advantage.
• Understanding of core insurance principles and of how insured events are reviewed.
• Legal or financial mindset; ability to analyse documents.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy with documents.
• Analytical skills; comfortable with large volumes of information.
• Resilience under pressure and a heavy workload.
• Clear communication with clients, branches, partners and internal teams.
• Business correspondence skills and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively.
• Confident Microsoft Office user: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Good Excel: tables, filters, sorting, formulas, pivot tables.
• Quick to learn internal information systems and workflows.
• Responsible, organised and reliable with deadlines.
